Many people are interested in a real estate career because they want a flexible work schedule and the unlimited earning potential that sales positions can offer.
All Illinois real estate brokers are licensed by the state through the Office of Banks and Real Estate (OBRE). To get your real estate license, you must first complete the required education and pass the licensing examination.
A real estate agent is a REALTOR® when he or she becomes a member of the REALTOR® Association. REALTOR® Membership is available to Illinois licensed real estate brokers and salespersons, as well as licensed or certified appraisers. The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and who subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.
Membership in CAAR also includes a large contingent of Affiliate members, whose businesses have interests in real estate and who are supportive of the Association and its REALTOR® members.
